Sarah Cloutier, a good and dear friend of mine, is an amazing artist, and whilst moseying through my bookmarks, I rediscovered it.

... There is a portrait of Greyspell in there, from a few years ago when I was just noodling with him, and his HAIR IS LOOSE AND I CAN SEE THE SKIN OF HIS THROAT, and it seriously weirds me out. XD

She's trying to support herself, or at least supplement her income, with her art, and with all of her talent I keep thinking of that git who gets paid to illustrate Tor paperback covers, and I'm like, HOW IS THIS JUSTICE

I am blown away by her colorswap geisha series.

RIGHT SERIOUSLY I KNOW RIGHT? I JUST - that one is one of my favorites simply for the DETAIL and the watery and airy color palettes.

The detail was what got to me first. And then the light coming in from up top, and the contrast between the mosaic and the figure on the throne, and the look on her face, and EVERYTHING.

And for some reason this picture reminds me to ask, did you hear about A Dance With Dragons? Eeeeee!
